MINISTRY AREAS
Education
the education committee oversees the educational ministry of Trinity to children. This includes Sunday School, Confirmation Classes, and the summer educational program (Vacation Bible School).
Evangelism
The evangelism committee works to reach non-members with the good news of God’s saving grace. This includes publicity and welcoming.
Fellowship
The purpose of the fellowship committee is to enhance our community life by providing opportunities to come together and get to know one another personally. Its members plan social events for the church. Ideas and help are welcome. Meetings are held as needed.
Finance
The finance committee is responsible for oversight of all financial affairs of the congregation. It is composed of the treasurer, financial secretary, and two or three congregation members. Duties include prioritizing bill paying, overseeing expenditures and investments, drafting a tentative budget, training and providing counters, assisting the treasurer in preparing reports and tax documents, and reviewing insurance policies.
Mission and Service
The goal of this committee is to educate and inform congregation members on issues of peace and justice and other social issues in the community and the world. Members should be informed about and involved in social issues in the community, be informed about international missionary activities, and inform other members of ways in which they can provide service and outreach to the congregation and community and encourage them to do so.
Property
The property committee is responsible for seeing to the maintenance of Trinity’s buildings and grounds that they be safe, inviting, protected, and meet fire, safety and insurance code requirements. Committee members work with the pastor, the custodian, groundskeeper and other church members (or hired contractors, if necessary) to see that necessary work is carried out. It is helpful for committee members to have knowledge of building and fire codes, construction or gardening skills, or experience in seeking and evaluating contractor bids. There are usually two scheduled workdays (before Easter and before Christmas) at which all members have a chance to help with yard work and building projects.
Stewardship committee
The stewardship committee promotes expression of Christian faith through the giving of time, talent, and money. It is responsible for organizing the yearly pledge drive and maintaining a time and talent listing. Committee members should also encourage giving of money, time, and talent, be familiar with the Synod stewardship events, and provide stewardship education to the congregation.
Worship/Music committee
The worship/music committee plans the music and order of service for each Sunday of the church year and for special services. It is composed of the pastor, choir director, musician, and other interested members.
